Can I service my heat pump myself safely and effectively?

You can safely handle light heat pump upkeep, but full service should be done by a technician. Do-it-yourself tasks include filter changes and clearing debris around the outdoor unit. We recommend professional maintenance twice a year to prepare for cooling and heating seasons. Our tune-up covers coil cleaning, refrigerant level checks and leak hunting, tightening electrical connections, thermostat calibration, lubricating moving parts, clearing the condensate drain, and checking the defrost setting and airflow.

Quick homeowner checks:

  • Replace or clean filters.
  • Keep outdoor unit clear of debris.
  • Verify thermostat settings.
